Prospective Higher Degree Research Student Information

The School of Art, Architecture and Design (AAD) at the University of South Australia offers higher degree by research programs at Masters and Doctoral degree levels, including by major studio project for Visual Arts candidates.

A higher degree by research advances knowledge and/or applications of knowledge through the preparation of a substantial thesis that represents a significant contribution to a particular field of study. Students are encouraged to collaborate across a range of disciplines to help solve real-world problems and contribute to the betterment of society.

Higher degree by research students engage in an intensive individual program under the guidance of expert supervisors and are supported by school-based and university-wide programs including work-in-progress seminars and studio critiques.
