Visualising Mental Health 2018

Communicating important mental health concepts to the wider community

Facilitated by Match Studio, and led by academic Doreen Donovan, UniSA’s third year Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) students undertook a 12-week co-design project to develop concepts and design prototypes of visual communication tools that would assist clinical psychologists to communicate with clients and the general public.
In teams, the students had to address one of the following topics:

  1. What are emotions? What are normal emotions? How do I manage those that I find unpleasant?
  2. Teaching people to become behaviour change experts in their own lives.
  3. Getting university students to ask for help
  4. The Theory of Mind (TOM)

The outcomes of the project will be showcased in an exhibition at the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery from Saturday 6th -Saturday 13th October.
