Peer 2 Peer 2016 Challenging Extremism Global Challenge

Client: United States Department of State, supported by Facebook

The 2016 Peer 2 Peer Challenge enabled students to group together from Social Science, Psychology, Communication and Media, Marketing and Communication, Information and Technology, Communication Design and Journalism to create a student-led social media agency. They were required to perform primary research on their highlighted target audience before utilising a USD $2000 operational budget to design, pilot, implement and measure the success of a social or digital initiative, product or tool. The interdisciplinary team developed a social media campaign named #stopISILation which aimed to create unity through diversity whilst encouraging an alternative path to violent extremism.
