Visualising Mental Health 2017

Communicating important mental health concepts to the wider community

Psychologists are often faced with the challenge of communicating mental health concepts to their clients and the wider community. The Visualising Mental Health project saw interdisciplinary teams of students from backgrounds in visual communication, social work and design work alongside psychologists from the Psychology and Health forum to develop creative and engaging health materials to help communicate mental health concepts. The students’ project outcomes were showcased at a three-week exhibition, consisting of children’s story books, wellbeing packages, soft toys, posters, smartphone applications and more. Some of which will have significant value beyond the project, being used clinically or even commercialised and more importantly positively enhancing the lives of individuals in the wider community.
