Dr Katica Pedisic shortlisted for architectural education prize

Dr Katica Pedisic, lecturer in Architecture, was named as one of five finalists in the Association of Architecture Schools of Australasia (AASA) Education Prize for Early Career Academics.

Dr Pedisic was awarded a $1000 prize to subsidise travel to the AASA AGM in Auckland in October where her studio work will be exhibited and become part of a public forum. The work of prize winners will also be displayed and archived on the AASA website and featured in the AASA newsletter.

Architectural Design Studio 4 (communication). Course coordinator: Dr Katica Pedisic. Work by Abinash Kunjamboo, Wonderland design and associated interactive animation, SP5, 2018.

The prize was initiated in 2019 in response to a lack of recognition of the efforts and achievements of early career academics in architectural education. It recognises excellence and leadership in teaching as well as contributing to the articulation of the value of architectural education and research and providing an opportunity for a collaborative knowledge exchange between institutions.

The winner will be announced on October 1 at the AGM following an exhibition opening, presentation and discussion with industry representatives and AASA delegates.
