Staff and students head to Colombia on study tour
University of South Australia staff and students will return this week from a study tour to Bogota, Colombia.
The tour enabled students to discover and learn from the innovative urban design solutions the country has implemented in response to large-scale informal settlements, social inequality, and traffic congestion.
Students from the Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning programs in the School of Art, Architecture and Design spent time collaborating with students of Urban Management from the University of Rosario to develop a design proposal for a new transport corridor.
The study tour comprised of a range of activities including visits to iconic public buildings and structures in Bogota, Medellin, and Zipaquira. Staff and students were able to explore and compare differences in design and urban planning context and approach in different regions of the world.
