The annual Business SA Export Awards took place at the Adelaide Convention Centre last month. Attended by more than 500 people, the event aims to recognise the state’s most dynamic and innovative businesses and spotlight their success on the global market.

Throughout their 57-year history, the Business SA Export Awards have celebrated a number of business successes and facilitated their national recognition at the Australian Export Awards, the 2019 iteration of which is set to take place in Canberra in December.

Prior to the ceremony, Business SA worked with the University of South Australia to run a competition with Bachelor of Design (Product Design) students to design and manufacture a prestigious and unique trophy for the 2019 Awards.

Student entries were presented at the 2019 Product + Industrial Design Work-in-Progress Exhibition in June 2019, exploring the specialised design processes that are crucial to the profession. Entries were judged by a panel made up of Business SA representatives and UniSA Product Design staff.

Congratulations second-year Product Design student Shu Yun Lam on designing and modelling the winning entry. 18 trophies were subsequently produced in the Art, Architecture and Design workshop at UniSA, overseen by Product Design staff Dan McLean, Tom Delloso and Andrew Whittaker.
