Facilities

Visit our award-winning, purpose-built facilities across UniSA’s City West and Mawson Lakes campuses.

Spanning multiple locations, the School of Art, Architecture and Design is home to technical and digital workshops, ceramics, glass, sculpture, printmaking, metalwork, photography, and painting and drawing studios, and dedicated architecture and design studios and workshops.

Dorrit Black Building

Dorrit Black

There’s no mistaking the purpose of the Dorrit Black Building. Home to the technical workshops of UniSA’s School of Art, Architecture and Design, the building houses ceramic kilns, glass blowing equipment, printmaking and jewellery apparatus, state-of-the-art photography darkrooms, textile, painting and drawing studios, and all the machinery required to make furniture, models, or work with metal.

It hosts the SASA Gallery, Australia’s only dedicated Architecture Museum, and The Crease: creative research environment.

Student Lounge

The newest social space of our West End, the Student Lounge, is located on the ground floor of City West campus’s Catherine Helen Spence Building and offers students a space to interact outside of study time. Opened in September 2015, the lounge is devoted to enhancing the student experience and campus life.

The space’s concept design was driven by ideas from the University’s architecture students and will be available for all students, not only those based at City West campus. The space will also cater for social and recreational events organised by the Student Experience Team, USASA and student groups.

Pridham Hall

Sitting alongside UniSA’s Jeffrey Smart Building and near a new student accommodation block on Hindley Street, Pridham Hall's architecturally expressive design continues to transform Adelaide’s West End and enhance the vibrancy of the City West campus. The facility is a public drawcard and will attract the South Australian Health and Biomedical Precinct’s growing population.

The first graduation ceremony was held in Pridham Hall on Monday 9 April, where over 4,000 students graduated for the first time in the new space. The gym facilities and pool are now open and more information about membership options are available via the UniSA Sport webpage.
