Activating Heritage: Sustainability and Adaptive Re-use of Heritage Buildings: A Research Report

Carolyn Wigg (Department for Environment and Heritage Sustainability and Adaptive Reuse Fellowship 2009/10)

The Department for Environment and Heritage Sustainability and Adaptive Reuse Fellowship focussed specifically on the sustainability benefits of the adaptive reuse of buildings in general and of heritage buildings in particular. The 2009/10 Fellowship was awarded to Carolyn Wigg. The aim of the study was to promote the view that heritage and sustainability are not mutually exclusive, but have common agendas, which can be achieved by bringing new life to heritage listed buildings through adaptive re-use.
