Running for its sixth year, the Drink Dine Design Award is open to emerging designers who have completed a design or study program in South Australia in the last five years. Focusing on South Australia’s reputation for great food, wine and dining experiences, the award offers a $3000 prize and direct entry into the Design Institute of Australia Awards to the most innovative and exciting product.
For those interested in applying for the award, from both within and outside the UniSA, Match Studio held a briefing and design forum on June 18 2018 where attendees could hear from leading experts on designing for hospitality, discover the secrets for creating the ultimate dining experience and gain insight into what the 2018 Drink Dine Design judges are looking for.
To further support submission preparation Match Studio offered an elective open to both graduate and undergraduate students across all disciplines. Throughout the course, students heard from industry professionals, gained critical feedback during concept development and final submissions and undertook workshops on how to write ‘artist statements’, and correctly document and present their work in a professional context.
Finalists’ works will be exhibited at the Adelaide Airport is a specially designed installation developed by Grieve Gillet Anderson Architects as well as showcased at the Adelaide Review Hot 100 South Australian Wines event in December.
